Life in the District.

So...I might be posting everyday for the first little bit, but things are so exciting and new that it's hard not to! The District is what people who live here call Washington, D.C. They say "Welcome to the District." So, since I live here now, I will call it that, too :). The group of students I am here with is so much fun!! We have a blast together, and we are already a family. Yesterday, three of us went exploring to find Target. It was quite an adventure! It involved a lot of metro switches, some surprise metro construction, and riding the metro with a huge mattress pad and a lot of grocery bags. We had a blast! We also got to go see the White House, Washington, Lincoln and WW2 memorials yesterday. I am sure that is only the first time of many. Church today was also an adventure. It takes 40 mins to get there and we have to take a bus. It is in this cool, old, colonial looking church. Our ward seems like a lot of fun, about half of them are interns from Utah from BYU, U of U, and USU. The students from the other schools are really nice and fun, even the ones from the U. It is so cool to be able to travel clear across the country and have a place to fit in where you fill the spirit, and is familiar to you. The regulars in the ward were really welcoming, and I even met a girl from St. George there. I can't remember her name, but she went to school at BYU and is now living out here working. Tomorrow is class all day, and Tuesday is our first day on the job! I can't wait!! Be sure to check out the pictures on Facebook!
