Subways and Security
I am posting from my office! Yes, I am sitting at my desk right now with a little downtime. May I just say...I was meant to live in a big city!? There is so much to do and see...especially here! I have almost mastered the Metro system, aside from the fact that I left my umbrella on the train and now it is gone forever :(. My only hope is that some poor or homeless person gets a hold of it and it improves their life. My friends here make fun of me because I scope out good places to sleep if I were homeless as we walk around the city. I always say " If I were homeless..." then proceed to tell them my brilliant plan for beating the situation. I love the people I live with! There are 8 boys and 14 girls, and it is so much fun! Us girls are already close friends, and we had a dance party in the hallway last night. I thought the other girls would get mad because it was late, but they just came out and joined! The boys are a lot of fun as well, even though they aren't as numerous. Our institute class is called "Presidents and Prophets", and I can tell it is going to be an interesting one! The good news is, we get credit for it! So this semester I am taking a total of 11 credits, I am considered a full-time student, and I don't even have to go to school! The classes we take consist of easy reading, and visits to important dignitaries. This Friday we will be visitng a judge on the DC Circut Court of Appeals. Saturday we decided to tear up the Smithsonian because it is closed by the time we get off work. Some of us are going to hit up New York one of these weekends, and some want to go down to Charlottesville, VA, to visit the University of Virginia and Monticello. I love my office and the people I work with. Today I went and explored the Capitol Building. Every inch of it has been seen by Brielle. There is not one place in there that I am not allowed to go! It is really cool. My favorite place is on top of the dome :)
